Over 20 hurt in India blast

AT LEAST 20 people were injured as blasts rocked India's capital New Delhi on Saturday, police said.

Three separate blasts hit the teeming city, within minutes of each other, injuring weekend shoppers, a Delhi Police spokesman said.

Indian television said the blasts occurred at a busy market place and at a parking lot. Broadcasts showed a scene of chaos, with wounded people being carried away by rescuers.

Hundreds of people milled around the site of the explosions as police tried to cordon off the area.
